Time Tested: DIDI has been used extensively since 2008 in active forensic centers and has been successfully used in Medical Examiner, Coroner and Justice of the Peace systems in three states.
Internet Based: The DIDI application was developed for use with Internet Explorer®, however, can be accessed via other means such as iPads, iPhones, and Android devices.
Role Based Application: The role-based application allows specific roles to access specific areas with customizable permissions to view, add, modify or delete data.
Easy to Learn and Use: Depending upon the user role, it can take as little as an hour of training to use DIDI.
Software Encryption: The DIDI system utilizes a high level of encryption which protects confidential records and keeps a secure record of the individuals who access or input data.
Case Search: Each case is given its own unique case number. Cases can be searched by that number, name, date of birth, exam date, address, date of death, manner of death, age and gender, to name a few. The user can also export their search results to an Excel spreadsheet.
Case Overview: Once a case is selected, the user is taken to a case overview page which details basic information such as decedent demographics, case status, forensic pathologist, and other basic information. From here you can access any other area in the case for more detailed information.
Picklists: Numerous customizable picklists are in the application which makes it easier for the user and keeps the data uniform. The database also contains areas for free text.
Investigation: A comprehensive investigation section has been developed which allows death scene investigators to input data depending upon death type, e.g., motor vehicle, suspected homicides, suspected suicides, infant deaths, etc., with specific details.
Built in Reports and Certificates: Data that has been entered into the database populates to other screens and reports. State forms can be built into the system, as well as other routinely used forms and letters.
Electronic Signatures: DIDI allows forensic pathologists to electronically sign reports such as autopsy and histology reports. After a report is signed, it is maintained permanently in the application but can be easily downloaded and printed for dissemination.
Ancillary Studies: Technologists use this area which contains sections for fingerprints, X-rays, toxicology and histology orders, microbiology, specimens and technologist notes, etc.
Pathologist Exam Section: The exam screen is where the pathologist enters the cause and manner of death and can be customized to print out on a death certificate, for example.
Case Images: Digital or scanned images to be uploaded into specific categories. Unlimited photographs can be added. Printing thumbnails will allow the user to print specific or multiple images. Images can also be downloaded to a single zip file.
Documents: Documents can be also be uploaded separately and maintained in specific categories such as medical records, identification, and other outside agency reports.
Body Release: All release information, transport information, and other details relevant to that process.
Audit Section: This module allows for evidence audits. Audits can be conducted for locations, containers and specific cases.
Optional Barcoding: This module greatly assists forensic centers in maintaining the “chain of custody” for evidence, tracking items throughout the system, makes auditing more effective and can be used to track decedents and their personal effects throughout the entire forensic process.
Third Party Users: User roles can include District Attorneys, Justices’ of the Peace, and law enforcement, which allow them to view and download items pertaining to their specific cases only.
Administrative and Quality Assurance Reports: DIDI can produce documents needed for statistical and government reports, as well as QA.
Streamline Billing: The application can be customized for financial personnel to quickly invoice clients for professional services.
Pricing and Contact Information: Depending on the volume of users, multiple pricing options are available.
